Beware of Clot Danger!
Clots in the vessels of vital organs are one of the most common causes of death. Experts say that the danger increases with age and that health checks should be performed at regular intervals.
While clotting is the most common cause of death after cancer, infectious diseases and traffic accidents, clots seen in the intestines, liver and lung vessels can also result in limb loss.
At the ASVS 2023 Congress held in Antalya, 1600 surgeons from 30 countries discussed the dangers associated with clots.
Important warnings were made, especially against occlusion in the aorta.
While experts say that the case rate increases with age, they point out that although it can also be seen in young people, when we look at people aged 65-74, the incidence is around 55 per 100 thousand.
Experts also pointed out that one should not sit or stand for long periods of time.
It was stated that one in a thousand people develops a clot in the main veins in the legs, and that this clot has a high probability of reaching the lungs.
Therefore, health checks at regular intervals were recommended.
