Is Vitamin D the Key to Happiness?
Could the key to happiness be in vitamin D? Sun rays increase the happiness hormone. Therefore, sunbathing or lack thereof determines our perspective on life.
Sun rays have the ability to increase the secreted serotonin, the happiness hormone. It is even thought that the reason for increasing depression in the elderly is due to its deficiency.
Dietician Fatma Turhan gave the information: "Avoiding too much exposure to the sun is a common problem in the elderly, and depression can be much more common in older ages."
"Vitamin D is not the only cause of depression"
Pointing out that malnutrition also lays the foundation for depression, Turhan continued as follows:
"Vitamin D is important for depression, especially as our immunity is strong in fighting these viruses, and our body's absorption of vitamin D will be better with adequate nutrition. Vitamin D is not the only cause of depression. Again, as we know, nutritional deficiency of tiptophan, folic acid, b12, iron "Zinc deficiency, that is, malnutrition, lays the foundation for depression."
Experts still underline that vitamin D alone is not enough to be happy.
